HOW TO DONATE

WHY DONATE

Items We Accept IF Brought In:

(Can be picked up only any if you have any large items as listed above)

*Up to 7 bags/boxes per household

  • Clothes: clean and in good condition. no holes or stains

  • Electrical: complete light fixtures, boxed light bulbs

  • Electronics: phonographs, DVD’s, VHS, CD’s, telephones (working condition)

  • Infant/toddler: strollers, play pens, high chairs

  • Jewelry: necklaces, pendants, rings, bracelets, watches (working condition)

  • Linens: clean and good condition. No holes or stains

  • Paint: new cans only (no used paint or rusted cans)

  • Office: computers, flat monitors

  • Sporting goods: golf, fishing, sport equipment, bicycles (working condition)

  • Tools: hand tools and power tools

Items We Cannot Take:

(Due to federal law, insurance restrictions, inventory limitations, or liability issues) 
   

  • Mechanical (adjustable) beds

  • Infant/toddler baby beds, cribs, car seats

  • Lumber with nails

  • Hospital beds

  • Books/Magazines/Encyclopedias

  • Metal desks

  • Credenza style headboards (shelves in it)

  • Faucets (Unless new in box)

  • Hot water heaters

  • Prefab sinks unless cabinet is included

  • Cast Iron Sinks

  • Water Beds

  • Used paint – must be at least ½ full

  • Items with stains, tears, or missing pieces

  • Non-working appliances, electronics etc. Items must be working and in good condition

  • Pianos/Organs

  • Cast iron tubs

  • Televisions that are cabinet models, projection, or larger older models

  • Tires/Rims

  • Unframed mirrors/glass

  • Dishwashers

Items We Accept & Pickup:

(Free pick up service available in city of Amarillo and Canyon)

​

  • Appliances: working, clean

  • Cabinets: modern, no damage, complete with doors and drawers

  • Carpet: modern, no stains or odors

  • Counter tops (Kitchen): no cut outs

  • Doors: no broken glass or rotten wood, standard sizes only

  • Electronics: flat TV’s only, stereos

  • Exercise: treadmills, exercise bikes (working condition)

  • Furniture: good usable condition. no rips, tears, stains, or odor. (wood furniture must be complete with doors and drawers)

  • Laminate Flooring: full boxes only, minimum 4 boxes

  • Lawn & Garden: lawn mowers, BBQ grills (working condition)

  • Lumber: 4’ or longer, ½ sheets or larger, no nails, no scraps

  • Mattresses: no stains, rips, tears, bed bugs or odors. (no excessive wear)

  • Office furniture: complete with doors/drawers

  • Outdoor Furniture: good condition and no repairs needed

  • Plumbing: usable fixtures, bathtubs, sinks, commodes. (no cast iron tubs)

  • Recreation:  personal recreation vehicles, camp trailers, other trailers

  • Roofing: full bundles (3 bundle minimum)

  • Tile: wall and floor. (boxed and clean)

  • Windows: no broken glass or rotten wood, in frame

  • Vanity Tops (bathroom): no longer than 60”

  • Vehicles: cars, trucks, boats, RV’s (running and in driving condition)

  • Businesses: closeouts, buy backs, seconds, blemished, slow moving inventory

EASY DROP: When dropping off a donation, please pull into the loading dock on the west side of the building at 2626 Paramount for easy drop. Our hours for drop offs are 9:30 AM - 4 PM.

PICK UP SERVICE: We provide limited free pick up service for large donations in the Amarillo/Canyon Area. Call 806-383-3456 to schedule your pick up. *Please call to schedule your pick-up at least 2 weeks in advance

SHOP & DONATE: The ReStore is open to the public so be sure to browse the store so you don't miss a great deal!

SUPPORT HABITAT MISSION: Items donated to the ReStore will be sold and proceeds from that sale go directly to Habitat mission of providing affordable homes to the hardworking families here in Amarillo.

TAX DEDUCTIBLE: We will provide you with a receipt of your donation upon request which may be used for tax purposes.

​

ECO FRIENDLY: Your donation does more than you think! Recycling helps to reduce the waste in our landfills.  In fact, our store saves approximately 250 tons of waste per year!
